Whether you are a novice to the wonderful world of horticulture or a gardening guru, Jenna Bayer’s Garden Bootcamp is a fun and interactive way to help kick-start your summer Vegetable Garden or ramp up your ornamental landscape.
Each class begins with 60 minutes of Basic Training in horticulture and gardening basics, followed by hands-on field labs and a take-home project/planter.

BOOTCAMP CLASSES
Basic Training/Plant Selection
Right Plant, Right Place, Right Purpose! This is the Garden Bootcamp mantra. This class will cover plant health through enhancing soil, compost, mulch, pest control and irrigation. Then we will delve into the vast sea of plants available and identify what works for you and your garden conditions. Our lab will cover rose care and pruning. Many plants, including heirloom roses, will be available for purchase.
Veggie Gardening with Raised Bed Lab
Whether you are a novice gardener or a garden guru, if you want to grow your own veggies, this class isfor you. We cover the basics of maintaining plant health, soil structure and chemistry; mulch andcompost, plant selection, irrigation, and dealing with pests and pathogens. Our lab will cover theassembly and care of raised beds. Raised bed kits, veggie starts and seeds are available for purchase.
Irrigation
Irrigation can be complex when trying to water all aspects of your landscape. Lawns, shrubs, flower beds, raised beds and containers all need specific types of systems tailored to your design and landscape features. Delve into the design of irrigation systems and leave knowing the system features and application rates that fit YOUR garden.
Basic Training
Whether you are a novice gardener or a garden guru, Jenna Bayer's Garden Bootcamp is a fun and interactive way to help you make your garden successful. You will learn the basics of maintaining plant health, soil structure and chemistry; how mulch can be your best friend; design and layout; plant selection; and how to deal with pests and pathogens. The in-depth lab will cover spring propagation techniques and winter tree pruning including fruit trees.
Garden Design
Bring your sketches and dimensions! Jenna will work with you to design success into your garden. After a review of Basic elements, you will dive right into style, plant selection, hard and softscape, drainage and irrigation, and when to call a contractor or do it yourself.
Propagation
Put your Basic Training skills to work and multiply the plants in your garden. Join us for intensive training on division, cuttings and propagation techniques. We’ll be working in Jenna’s garden and you will take home divisions. Bring your boots and your Hori Hori, you’ll need them in this session.
